The June 2023 update, which focuses on improving the camera capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, has now been rolled out in Europe. This update, previously released in Asian countries, is available for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The firmware version for this update is S91xBXXU2AWF1 and it has a file size of 2.2GB. To avoid additional data charges from your carrier, it is advisable to download the update using a Wi-Fi connection.

With the June 2023 update, the Android security patch level for the Galaxy S23 devices is raised to June 2023. The key improvements include fixing camera autofocus issues, enhancing Night Mode processing, and introducing a 2x zoom option in the Portrait Mode of the default camera app. Additionally, the update brings smoother transition animations for Samsung’s One UI and improves haptic feedback. It is also expected to resolve HDR problems that the default Camera app faces in specific lighting conditions.

If you reside in Europe and have not received the update notification on your Galaxy S23 smartphone, you can manually check for it by going to Settings > Software update.

The update will gradually roll out to more regions in the following weeks. However, it is worth noting that China and South Korea will receive a different version of the AWF1 firmware with additional optimizations, as indicated by tipster Ice Universe.
